Hamish says it's snow good.

See the boxer puppy ohhhh very cute..

Hi All

She said if I feel bad she would just put a pic on of the living room showing the snow outside. Well the snow has gone today and now it is all wet and slushy and everytime I come in I have to have my feet washed !!!

So all I can say is Baa Humbug......
PS Can anybody tell me how to move pictures on this blog. It seems to have a mind of it's own now.

Hamish is Snowbound

Hi Everyone
I guess you get the picture. The only time we went outside today was when it was absolutely necessary. Gina went to the docs ( seems all is OK) and a couple of quick visits up to the chickens. Quite funny story though. When Jim and I went up this morning to let out les jolies filles it was whiteout and the first chicken put a foot out and then put it back in again, then tried to reach the food by stretching...... in the end Jim made a space in the shed and they had breakfast in bed!!!!!!!!!!!! Came out for a quick sortie ( see how fluent I am now in french!) when the sun came out then straight back to the shed. Don't think they like snow.
Feel sorry for me mates in Angleterre I hear the snow there is pretty serious and about to get more serious. Keep warm and snug everyone. See you after the weekend.

Hamish thinks we may have a White Christmas

Hi Folks

Hey it is just like being in Buxton again. When we arrived in Montcuq in Summer 2003 ( the year of the Canicule heatwave ) we told at that Christmas that it had not snowed in Montcuq for 10 years well it has snowed every single winter since. Round and about Christmas time albeit only for a day or two !!!!

Have to confess to not going too far from the homestead it is bitterly cold as well. The chicks are fine and don't seem to mind the snow ( have this inkling that maybe they are just a bit thick at times !)

Apparently it is the Grandmother's Birthday today. 87 years old today and still ruling with a rod of iron. But hey that is not a bad innings is it.

Happy Birthday Granma Roberts. This is a picture of her with her dad. She is aged about 27 in this picture and that is Gina and her brother Joe with them.

Taken about 1066 I think !!

Hope you are all tucked up and keeping warm. I heard on the news they even have snow in Toulouse.... wow....
See ya

Hamish around Montcuq

Hiya Folks
Sorry about all the confusion. Poor old Gina she has not been well you know - EVER... But don't tell her I told you that. To make up for yesterday's confusion I have instructed my secretary to show you around a little bit of our famous town. Pronounced by theway as  Mon Cook. Don't say it the other way you will get funny looks from anyone who speaks French or has heard of our town on the tele. The Picture at the top of today's blog is the "Hotel de Ville" or Mairie this is where all the biz happens it is on the street known as le Petit Rapporteur. Prizes for anyone who can guess why?

The next 2 pics are of the boulangerie or bakers for us English speaking bods. It is great fresh bread, baguettes and specialities every day. See all the stuff inside Shop is practically emptied by about 9.00 am!!!

The next picture is opposite the Mairie and you find lots of these little excentricities all around the ville all decorated with flowers in the summer. Beautiful arrrrrrrrrrrrr

This next pic is the infamous rue le petit rapporteur. It is very old and much celebrated.

Sorry totally unable to get the video on this to work so I have used one of Gina's photos of Ben to show you. Bit of a poser isn't he. BUT gorgeous with it.

He has the look of a Rasputin about him don't ya think?

See ya tomorrow.

Hamish and co have yet another day off.

Hi Everyone.

Gina is still a bit under the weather but I have persuaded her to do a video of the chickens. Apparently if the lady chickens mature ( which ours have ) at this time of year they are not going to produce eggs until the daylight hours get longer. HENCE no eggs yet, really healthy looking chickens - fabulous - but no EGGS yet .
Think you get the message.

Still never mind, won't be long and they should be strong as oxes when they do. Here is the little video. It really is hilarious when you see them running around after each other's bit of spaghetti I have to say we do not serve bolognese with this and it is best Wheat SPAGHETTI. no eggs whatsoever involved. It has also been yet another glorious day in Quercy Blanc, don't you just love that name, and the bulbs in the garden are peeping through getting ready for the spring, so there you go we are off again on another year. Sorry no spaghetti on the video that one was toooooooooooo long this is a little on and with any luck It should load OK.

While the video is loading, I would like to mention that I have not had a walk for 2 days, I have been round that field till I am dizzy - Hope she gets better soon. The video was too long as well so here is a photo or two.

I am not too keen on the new Blog writing facilities why do things always change when you have got used to them? Incidently Ben looks as if he may have a been doing a dance here. Which dance who knows ???

Hamish fights for the right to get his food.

Hi Folks

Oh boy is Buddy better.  He keeps pushing in at dinnertime and I think all this enforced rest has made him little Mr Pushy !!!!

Jim says he is getting above himself he certainly is getting over and above me.

She went to the hospital today for some Xrays of the breathing appartatus and she looked pretty please so I guess all is OK.  She was going on about the Christmas lights in Cahors apparently they are fan dabby dosie.  Well I might not be a Crankie but I am a Scot.

Here is a pic of moi.  Just had a bath and trim and settling down for a spot of footie.  This is obviously Arsenal because as you can see it is A*** Venger with the hump.

Not a good day for Arsenal.  Now some backdated stuff.  While in England SHE met a rabbit - a very special rabbit.  She is called Carmen and is a house rabbit.  Diane, Gina's sister aquired her because she was not so good had seriously dodgey teeth.  Diane had them removed and now Carmen can run around the house because she can't chew anything.  Here is a pic of the little darling.  Funny thing was the Grandmother, whose is getting a bit past it, thinks it is a cat and everytime it jumps up onto her lap she yells out, "Get this cat off my lap!"  Then a few minutes later says she has saved some chicken for the "cat" - Diane yells back " It's rabbit it doesn't eat chicken."  To which the grandmother replies, "OK, give it some gravy then !!!"  Scary ain't it.......  But Carmen is beautiful and very friendly..

So till we meet again.  Hope things will be back to normal soon.  By the way the chickens are fine, George has gone to a good home he and Ben were growing very rapidly and there is not the facility for 2 cockerels but George is assured a long and pleasant life in Lot and Garonne.

Hamish sees Buddy get better.

Hi Folks

Gina is still unwell, nasty nasty cough ( bronchitis ) but the good news is that Buddy who we think had a mini stroke last week suddenlygot off his chair, walked out into the kitchen, ate ALL his dinner, had a drink of water - proceded to trot up the field, do the biz then came back and sat in his chair positvely smiling !!!!

That made us all very happy.

Also got the Christmas tree up.

Merry Xmas

Hamish household has the Grippe (Flu)

Hiya All

You could say we are in the grip of the flu !!!! hahaha..  BUT  got Gina to do this and put Zara's Christmas Card on the Blog.  Zara is in Redwood Class at Churchill Primary School in Kent.  Good job Zara, glad to see you are following the family traditions of literature and art.

Also have a photo of my 52nd cousin on my great uncle's side she is called Penny and lives in Gillingham with yet another member of the clan.

We also have some more pics and news but it will have to wait a bit as Gina has to retire to her bed coughing and spluttering...

Talk to you all soon
