FracTracker: The Environmental Impacts of Shale Gas Extraction

FracTracker: The Environmental Impacts of Shale Gas Extraction: "By John Stolz, PhD - Duquesne University, Department of Biological Sciences Fire on well pad The Marcellus Shale represents one of the l..."

Here is a very useful guide to what happens when gas is uplifted using Pressure Fracturation. It is a fracking unregulated industry.  Much to my despair.  There is a very useful calendar of events at the end of John Stolz's blog.

So do what you can to get jenned up and maybe make a few waves - let's get up their noses and demand regulation and adequate compensation when they frack up.. !!!!

Nuclear Energy was the bees knees till last week.

What do you think Hamish.????

Jim will fix it .....he can fix anything....

America's shale gas revolution has an audience from Blackpool to Algeria - Telegraph

America's shale gas revolution has an audience from Blackpool to Algeria - Telegraph: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

This is today's dose of Shale Gas News.  Still no hint about all the water it will need, the lorries to transport it there, and new heavy duty roads for the lorries to use.  No mention of the muck that will produced or how that will be moved and stored.  No hint of the damage there has been to the water table in areas of Arizona which has directly affected the people who live there, and the water supply that sits in these areas and then is used in communities miles away.  No mention that NONE of these companies are regulated.

I need more reassurance than someone's word who is not even a mining expert. !!!!!

Talk again soon.  Please get in touch if you want to join the army of people out there who are at last making their concerns known.  Nucleur Engery was safe - remember?  Tell that to the people in Japan now.

Gaz de schiste: Wo!

This is more information on the Pressure Fracturing which is now in about to commence in beautiful France. HORROR of HORRORS.  I sincerely hope I am wrong in assuming they don't know what they are doing and are not learning from what has happened in America, because if I am not it will happen here.

Pressure Fracturing for Gas

Thanks for any comments re this subject.  I am quite willing to publish anything which will bring this into the public arena.  This morning I heard on English television the NEW and soon to be ONLY lights/lamps for domestic use actually contain Mercury which is toxic and you cannot throw them away in the bin you have to take them to your local rubbish tip and handle with GLOVES ON !!!!!
The dustbin men run a mile from them.  So much for ecologically beneficial.

x   I am sure if Hamish knew about this he would be campagning too.

Fire from faucet

Here is a short video on the internet which shows the shocking results of this kind of mining.

Gas Mining using Pressure Fracturing

Hi All   This is not a doggy entry.  BUT I went to a meeting in our local Salle de Fetes which was full to overflowing and found out some information about Gas Pressure Fracturing.  This is where they extract gas by fracturing the deep sedimentry rocks to release the gas but the side effects are horrifying.  See this link for a project about to start near Blackpool in England and you can bet a pound to a penny the locals ( and I have a few relatives there ) don't know about it.

If you go to http://www.survivefrance.com/  I have started a group there to gather as much information as possible.  It is free to join and there are other benefits as well.

Talk again soon.  Let's get busy...  Gina
